I tried to re-examine the value of the precious through the electronic materials that were available almost everywhere around us but were unnoticed or given little attention. A creation of an electronic component demands experiments and calculations with a long and complicated process. Therefore, I try to express those efforts on electronic components as a wearable piece on our body in the form of a jewel.

The main concept in designing this collection is the superiority of spiritual values over material desires which surrounded us. Jewelry as a small symbol of external superficial beauties shows our tendency to this material world... But the light is a metaphor of real human values which have been forgotten. As a designer, Michelle Xianou Ni challenge herself to make unique wearable contemporary jewellery, fuse the western and oriental aesthetics together, push the bundary of contemporary jewellery.Currently, she express my designer idea by applying chinese ornament element on the pieces with pearl, semi- precious stone ,silver and gold ,to create unique piece, offering delicate color, soft texture, enhancing the visual effect to the viewer,giving the romantic Oriental artistic Conception.

Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa is a pair of rosy eye-wear with pearls & golden frames. Originating from gender awareness issues, it is designed with a theoretical usage of erasing sexual discrimination and reconstructing confidence. In practical use, the center piece that combines two spectacles can be worn on its own as a nose piece or an earring,while the rest still functions as a hand-hold facial ornament.

Sacred Bowl

This ring was inspired by a bowl decorated with charms and prayers, which has been used by Ottoman Sultans. Within the bowl it has written 99 different names of God refers the numbers, letters and symbols. Sultans believed that, drinking water from this bowl would help them to find healing. The ring is made of 14K Gold, diamond and ruby. The person whose this ring belongs to always will be healthy and protected. The part between the bowl and the ring refers the imperial standard of the Ottoman Empire.

Transience

Different items of white gold jewelry in the shape of fragile, gentle spider webs intertwined with fabric that echoes the wavelike structure of the jewelry. The motion of thread in space creates a web, which gives an impression of fabric. It enwraps and embraces the body, which opens up numerous opportunities for designing unconventional jewelry pieces, single or embedded to the dress. Asymmetrically inset zirconia stones are reminiscent of fresh dew drops glittering on the webs. The impression of optical fragility highlights the transience of Nature and its beauty.
