Zima
Zima is a handcrafted casual shoe inspired by Giveh, a traditional footwear craft of Persia. The name Zima means walk on the earth. The upper part is woven by hand from nano fabric, following the traditional weaving method known as Giveh-Baafi. The sole and the shoelace are made of a cork composite that combines cork granules with polyurethane. Artificial intelligence was used to explore new forms based on the old Giveh and on main ergonomic features. The package can also be used as a shoe rack.
Zima Casual Footwear by Saman Sabbaghi was highlighted as a grand example of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Zima Casual Footwear was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Footwear, Shoes and Boots Design in 2023. The A' Footwear, Shoes and Boots Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which rewards superior design of shoes, sneakers, sandals, boots, heels, loafers, moccasins, wedges, ballet flats and more.
