The Sunshine

Feature of this jewelry is that here used a large stone complex shape which is set to invisible (air) frame. Jewelry Design view opens only stones hiding assembly technology. The stone itself is held by two, unobtrusive fixtures and thin plate strewn with diamonds. This plate is the basis of all the supporting structure brooches. It holds and the second stone. The whole composition was made possible after the elaborate main grinding stone.

I Am Hydrogen

The design is inspired by the Neo-Platonic philosophy of macrocosm and microcosm, seeing the same patterns reproduced throughout all levels of the cosmos. Referencing the golden ratio and fibonacci sequence, the necklace features a mathematical design that mimics the phyllotaxis patterns observed in nature, as seen in sunflowers, daisies, and various other plants. The golden torus represents the Universe, enveloped in the fabric of space-time. "I Am Hydrogen" simultaneously represents a model of "The Universal Constant of Design" and a model of the Universe itself.

Desmond Chan is a self-taught jewelry designer based in Hong Kong. Inspired by everything, from Modern Art to something he sees on the streets. In his designing process, he tries to find a balance between technology and art. In recent years, 3D printing has become a common technique in jewelry making. 3D printing enables the jewelry of design-driven pieces that are not limited by the traditional methods, and eliminated many process steps that can easily be achieved some of the intricate details. Each design is sculpted using Maya and 3D printed in silver and gold.
